Catch Up Post

We took Valentines day off of the normal routine, and spent it doing fun stuff together. We made heart shaped cookies. We made some beauteous chocolate covered strawberries.

And then we devoured our handiwork. :-)

We've had lots and lots of this white stuff, with power outages to go with.
Here are some pretty sisters with new short hair cuts. Hmmmm, what else? Oh, a couple of weeks ago, before the big snow storms, the kids and I were out on our morning walk. I was my usual clutzy self, and wasn't watching where I was going, when all of the sudden......my ankle bent over sideways, and I went BAMMMMMMM flat out on the street (knees, stomach, arms... in that order). My knees were bloody, and my ankle was SORE. But you know, with all that sympathy from the kids... "Hey, Mom, at least no one SAW you fall"...."I hope you can get up, cause we can't go get the car and drive you home or anything."..........I knew I would be OK. I lay there for maybe a minute, then, because I didn't want anyone coming by with me laying there on the side of the road, managed to make myself get up and hobble home.
One of these days, I'm really gonna hurt myself....
I'm happy to say my ankle is almost better now. :-)

I guess that's all for now. God is good, life is full and good in the Houseful of Blessings, God is in control of this crazy world, and He won't give us more than we can handle. Praise Him!

Keeping up Appearances. :-)

I know that people tend to judge a large, home schooling family. It just happens, and I can't worry about what other people think, as long as I know I am obeying God. But, I want the world to know that I know that children are precious gifts and blessings from God. I know that sometimes the world looks at a mom with a bunch of dirty, unkempt kids, and judges. So, I always try to make sure the kids look decent when we go out. Clothes that match, combed hair, clean faces....
So, that's why I was so thrilled and proud to see Jackson out greeting our new neighbors this morning in this classic outfit. Note the inside-out dirty shirt, shorts in February, and huge shoes, belonging to an older brother, that he could barely keep on his feet. And a CLEAN face!! That's my boy. :-) Gotta love him!
