I wanna know who called them the lazy days of summer?

Cause they just feel super busy to me.....
Let's see, I haven't blogged in forever, so I guess I will go back and give a few highlights of our busy summer--in pictures, of course...
Well, Jackson and I did a craft together. We took all the old broken crayons, and sorted and melted them into new big ones. And.......drumroll please..........he actually colored with them. (His version of coloring is usually handing you the crayon or marker, and telling you where to color.....which I think slightly worries his Sunday School teacher that he refuses to color (don't all kids like to color?), but since I have had another kid who refused to color who grew up to be an (almost) engineer and a really nice guy, I'm not too worried.

He also learned to clean out the dishwasher, which made him feel really big and important. :-)
4th of July was great!! Good food, family, swimming, fireworks, fun!4th of July was followed by a week of VBS. Cara, Samantha, and I taught the preschoolers. It was a lot of work, but fun, cause I got to do it with my girls. Cara also directed the Friday night VBS play; Joey and Rebecca were in it, and they all did a great job. Then..........Jackson won this horse in the raffle they had for the kids that learned each day's memory verse. Isn't it great!? Well, it's big now, isn't it. I love having a big horse in my house......
Other things happening in the Houseful of Blessings include (but are not limited to):
~Cara has been working really hard to earn as much money as she can for college, and I have been driving her where she needs to go, so that has kept us both busy.
~Danny has also been working really hard to earn money for college.
~We have been doing some swimming.
~Nick and Danny did an intensive karate training seminar.
~Ralph has been working long hours of overtime.
~Cara and Colette are planning and gathering stuff for a big garage sale to earn college money.
~I have been pouring over all the curriculum books, choosing our school books for next year, which is right around the corner.
~Cara got a roommate assignment for CBU, went to the girl's Facebook page, and right away we all decided that it was a bad match, so she has requested a different one (and is waiting to hear back from them).
~Time has been flying by way too quickly, and I haven't gotten to nearly the things I was hoping to do this summer.
~Cara still has a bunch of things to gather together, but....the sweet ladies at the church are planning an "off to college" shower for her, so we will wait until that is over, and then a-shopping we will go for the rest.
~We will be going for a week to a camping place called Snowflower, and I can't wait to get away!

I think that's about it for now. Time to go and wake sleeping beauties and start another "lazy" summer day!
