This Weekend

Well, Friday the littles and I made some meals and goodies to deliver. Then we headed down and dropped off 2 casseroles, brownies, cupcakes, and banana bread at my parents' house. Then because it was so hot, we went to Scott and Lynn's to deliver the food we had for their house so as to get it out of the heat asap. Then back to Mom and Dad's for a short visit (didn't want to tire Mom out too much). Ok, back to Scott and Lynn's to visit and get Nick and Cara, who had been helping Scott and Lynn all week. Ralph came too after work. We had a big lasagna dinner together and that was fun. Then we started for home. About halfway home I noticed that the alternator light was on (actually, I didn't really know what that light was for, but after calling Ralph on the ham radio, he told me). Sooooooooooo, then we decided we better drop off the car at the shop before it went completely dead. So we had to call Danny to meet us at the shop and help get everyone home, since we couldn't all fit in Ralph's car. Whew! What a day.

Saturday they fixed the car and so that's done. The good news is that we were supposed to be leaving Saturday for our camping vacation that isn't happening, and we would have had that happen on our trip and possibly need towing and have a big hassle, so there is at least one reason that the trip wasn't meant to be.

~

Today is Sunday. We went to church, and had Omi up for a big fried chicken "linner", which is our word for our Sunday late lunch/early dinner. Now she is gone and the kids are playing outside and stuff like that. So that is our weekend.

~

Today I'm praying for:

Spiritual awakening in our country and in my own heart!,

Mom's continued healing,

and for each of my children have a passion for and to walk with the Lord always.

God is good!

Catching-up ramblings

We have been so busy that I hardly know where to start. Scott and Lynn (brother and his wife) moved last weekend!!! Now they will be 5 minutes from my parents and about an hour and 15 minutes from us. That is going to be such a blessing! Especially for my parents, with my mom healing from all her broken bones. Mom is getting to go home today. I'm sure she is looking forward to being back in her own home, and no more hospital food.
I am missing 2 of my kiddos. Nick is helping Scott get the last stuff from their old house and clean up, etc., and Cara is on loan to Lynn to help her this week. Danny went down last night to help unload a trailer load, but is back now. He came home bearing peaches and cherries for the family. He is a thoughtful kinda guy. It's kinda weird without Cara and Nick, but I have noticed less laundry and food consumption. :-) (I would rather have them than those things though, just to make that clear). Danny has been working so it has mainly just been me and the 4 littles. After morning chores and Math, we have played games, gone to the pool alot, and rented 2 movies. So I think they are having a fun week. We have also been reading out of a Bible story book. Usually we all read straight from the Bible, which is a very good thing, but the littles never really had alot of kid Bible story books read to them, because we usually gear Bible time for the older kids. So that is kinda neat that we are getting to do that. Even when the big kids come home, I think we will finish up the Bible story book before we go back to our normal Bible-time routine.
Samantha's birthday is coming up next week. She will be 11, so I guess I can't really keep calling her a little. She is sort of an "in-between". :-)
The kids are hoping for another pool trip today, but I think we will wait til after Jackson's naptime.
On another note, we are supposed to be leaving for a week-long camping trip on Saturday, but that is not gonna happen, due to Ralph not being able to get off of work now. Kinda sad, since Danny has the week off, but barring a miracle, it's not happening. But I guess I'm not really all that sad, because I know that God is in control and He is looking out for us, and it must not be in His plans for us to go at this time. I know Ralph really wanted to go though, so I'm sorry for him.
I guess that is enough ramblin' for now.

Are you weary, are you heavy hearted?
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus.
Are you grieving over joys departed?
Tell it to Jesus alone.
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus,
He is a Friend that’s well known.
You’ve no other such a friend or brother,
Tell it to Jesus alone.
Do the tears flow down your cheeks unbidden?
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus.
Have you sins that to men’s eyes are hidden?
Tell it to Jesus alone.
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus,
He is a Friend that’s well known.
You’ve no other such a friend or brother,
Tell it to Jesus alone.
Do you fear the gathering clouds of sorrow?
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus.
Are you anxious what shall be tomorrow?
Tell it to Jesus alone.
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus,
He is a Friend that’s well known.
You’ve no other such a friend or brother,
Tell it to Jesus alone.
Are you troubled at the thought of dying?
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus.
For Christ’s coming kingdom are you sighing?
Tell it to Jesus alone.
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus,
He is a Friend that’s well known.
You’ve no other such a friend or brother,
Tell it to Jesus alone.
